Modular Content

Modules are an outgrowth of our object-oriented platform. They allow you to encapsulate your content into a stand-alone unit that can be placed anywhere on your site. Modules are effective when your site contains bits of information, such as products, programs, or services, that need to be organized and displayed at various points on your site.

The goal of modules is to get site visitors information as consistently and efficiently as possible. You can change the content of the module in one place and this change will be reflected system wide. This creates consistency. By efficiency, we mean getting the information to the visitor quickly: a module with a small amount of information will simply display the information on the page. A module with a larger amount of information will contain a Read More button (the text can be customized) that will either instantly display the additional information in a popup or link to a stand-alone page.

Legal Aid Foundation of Santa Barbara County is our first site to use modules (https://lafsbc.org/services/). We use modules to display in-house services, donation methods, office information, and staff information. The Foodbank of Santa Barbara County What’s New Page shows the flexibility that modules have in terms of display format (https://foodbanksbc.org/whats-new/).
